Work in/for Progress

Well we have passed the half way mark in this doozy of a year and it's given us a lot to reflect on.  It's been very emotional but now that we have passed the Summer Solstice and entering the second half of 2020, I am feeling the time has come to get back to work.  After the emotions have settled into hard reflection, I feel the urge to act and work towards a world I want to live in - one that is diverse and celebrates its diversity, in which we not only understand our differences but embrace them; a world in which we not only act out of self interest but care for one another as brothers and sisters no matter what we look like or where we come from.  This is a most arduous task.  This is work that will never really be finished but will have to be constantly revisited and re-evaluated. We must all do our part in our own particular way and I realize that just like in the rest of our society, the fashion world has a lot of work to do. I have always been a fan of collaboration - working with others is inspiring, thought provoking and creatively challenging and I believe it is a way forward. A diverse world is a beautiful world, especially when we work together and learn to appreciate and inspire one another.  That being said, stay tuned for some new work that is coming midsummer which will include some collaborations that have been in progress - seems like a good year to put them out there.  Meanwhile, hope everybody still finds ways to enjoy a safe and socially distanced summer.  Here are some shots from the runway of our 2020 collection aptly named The Lost Romantics (let us not lose the love though!)
